Mark your calendars, Saraveza is turning 15!
The story began 15 years ago when Wisconsin transplant Sarah Pederson got the idea to open up a craft beer bar. A former furniture store on North Killingsworth and Michigan was the perfect home. The angular door was open to everyone.
Midwest-inspired food made everyone’s mouths water and the best selection of craft beer around quenched their thirst. Week’s turned to years and eventually a massive remodel happened, expanding the kitchen to help make everyone’s bellies even happier!
After 10 years, Sarah decided to sell the business to focus on her family. A duo of Portland restauranteurs who owned several bars and restaurant throughout Portland, including the legendary Roscoe’s, purchased the business in the Spring of 2018. Instead of mess with success, they left the business as it was shoulder to shoulder Packers games and all. (Go Pack Go!)
We’re marking our 15th Anniversary by brewing some beers with our most favorite breweries in and around Portland including our long lived and now revived house beer “Wisco” Cream Ale from the amazing folks at Breakside Brewery!
We’ll also have a Puppy Chow inspired Stout with the indelible Great Notion, a big fruity Belgian Sour with our longtime friends at Upright Brewing, a West Coast IPA with the up-and-coming Irrelevant Beer and a West Coast IPA with Living Haus Beer Co. We are beyond honored that all of these breweries are willing to go out of their way to support our tiny little beer bar.
Special merchandise and glassware will be available to take a little Saraveza magic home with you. Please come down, show some love, have a pasty and some cheese curds, sip a couple pints and take some stuff home. We appreciate all of your support over the years and can’t wait to continue to supply and support Portland with delicious food and craft beer for years and years to come!!
